Just sayin’.
Look. I like Buster Posey. I like him a lot. Baseball used to be played a certain way, they were much more aggressive on the base paths and especially at home plate. The game has become much less aggressive and much more like a friendly intramural game, with players fraternizing between the game and off the field.
I don’t like the fact Buster is now hurt and out for the season but this is how baseball used to be played and I have no issue with it.
I’m extremely conflicted on my feelings. On one hand, despite the clear path to the plate, I see nothing dirty about Cousins’ move and on the other I wonder why the game needs this last relic of injury-inducing contact.
Emphasis mine.
